The Château des Bachelards vineyard was created by the Benedictine monks of Cluny around the year 1100. The wine of Bachelards is part of this culture of intuition and observation. Bachelards is doubly certified in organic and biodynamic viticulture, and is a forerunner in its appellation in many respects: agroforestry in the vineyards, permaculture vegetable garden, sheep, naturally occurring bees, herbal medicine, working the soil on horseback, high trellising with acacia stakes, small yields, and very old vines with massal. The grapes are harvested by hand in crates, the wine is received by gravity, only indigenous yeasts are used and the maturing process is deliberately long... A heritage that has simply been reinterpreted with certainty, because the monks were never wrong!
